1947: Retired from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, later working for trading companies and stationed in Moscow.
1985: Awarded the title of “Righteous Among the Nations” (Yad Vashem) by the Israeli government, becoming the first Japanese citizen to receive this honor.
2000: His honor was officially restored by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a commemorative plaque was installed in the Diplomatic Archives.
